About the Team

Team ottobock.X3 is a joint initiative of Ottobock, ORTHO-TEAM and ETH Zurich’s Competence Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (RESC) – united by a shared passion for progress in the field of assistive technologies. Our joint mission is to help people with physical disabilities restore their independence by maintaining or regaining their freedom of movement. By participating in CYBATHLON 2024, we are keen to showcase the performance of the commercially available prosthesis Ottobock Genium X3 – individually adapted to the pilot’s needs.

About the Pilot

Filip Pockelé, a passionate water sports adventurer, will participate in CYBATHLON as the pilot for the ottobock.X3 team for the first time. Originally from Belgium, he now lives in Switzerland with his wife and their three children – maintaining an active lifestyle that includes travelling, mountain biking, stand-up paddleboarding and snowboarding. In 2016, Filip lost his leg in a kitesurfing accident that did not stop him from staying adventurous and exploring new activities – such as accepting the challenge to participate in CYBATHLON 2024.
