About the Team

Our team's core members are engineers from a research unit called InnoFab at the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand. In addition, we work with experts from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Associated Medical Science, at Chiang Mai University.

About the Pilot

Mr. Wiraphon Krueaphan, also known as "Aem," was born and raised in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand. He began working at Mae Sai Hospital around 2014 and volunteered as a rescuer. In October 2020, while on duty to aid an injured person, Aem and his team were hit by a car on the way, leaving him paralysed from the waist down. Despite this life-altering event, Aem has come to terms with his condition and remains determined to lead a fulfilling life.

About the Device

Our exoskeleton robot is a prototype from our research lab. The current version was developed based on the CYBATHLON 2020 competition (legs only move in a sagittal plane) and has gone through preliminary tests with a pilot. With the new challenges and changes in CYBATHLON 2024, the development of a new version is underway to be able to complete the tasks in CYBATHLON 2024.
